The Company's management and employees are committed to these principles daily.Why join us?Annual Bonus Incentives Comprehensive Benefits 401k with match Incredible Advancement Opportunities Collaborative culture and leadershipJob DetailsOverviewEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Regulatory & USDA ComplianceMaintain expert-level knowledge of USDA FSIS regulations, FDA requirements (as applicable), and state and local regulatory standards related to meat and protein processingServe as the primary facility contact for USDA inspections, regulatory reviews, audits, and investigationsEnsure ongoing inspection readiness through accurate documentation, traceability, and record retentionUSDA Labeling & DocumentationManage USDA label approvals, submissions, revisions, and maintenance for meat and protein productsEnsure accurate tracking, documentation, and cross-functional communication of labeling requirements and changesOversee regulatory records management to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and audit readinessCompliance Audits & Corrective ActionsLead internal compliance audits, risk assessments, and gap analysesDevelop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs) resulting from regulatory, certification, or customer auditsEnsure timely investigation, documentation, and closure of regulatory-related customer complaintsQuality Systems & Cross-Functional PartnershipPartner with FSQA, Quality, Operations, and Sanitation teams to implement and maintain robust compliance and food safety programsSupport HACCP, SOPs, SSOPs, and prerequisite programs specific to meat and protein manufacturingMonitor regulatory changes, assess operational impact, and proactively implement required updatesSupplier, License & Permit ComplianceManage and maintain the Approved Supplier Program, ensuring regulatory and documentation complianceOversee business licenses, permits, and regulatory filings required for facility operationCustomer & Social Compliance (Retail-Driven)Support and lead SMETA/ethical compliance audits required by major retail and grocery customersPartner with HR and Operations to ensure compliance with labor, safety, and workplace standardsCoordinate corrective actions related to customer-driven social and ethical compliance requirementsTraining & Continuous ImprovementTrain facility personnel on regulatory requirements, compliance procedures, and documentation best practicesDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencyQualificationsRequiredDirect experience in USDA-regulated meat or protein manufacturing, including beef, pork, poultry, and/or ground productsHands-on experience managing USDA inspections and label approvalsStrong understanding of food safety, regulatory compliance, and documentation practicesProven experience leading regulatory, certification, and customer auditsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-floor environmentPreferredExperience supporting BRC or other GFSI-recognized certificationsExperience supporting SMETA or major grocery customer audits (e.g., national retailers)HACCP certificationPrior leadership or mentorship experience within compliance, QA, or food safety teamsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)5–7+ years of regulatory compliance experience in meat or protein manufacturingIn-depth knowledge of USDA FSIS regulations, HACCP, SOPs, SSOPs, and labeling requirementsStrong analytical, organizational, and project management skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organizationAbility to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlinesInterested in hearing more?
