Sanitation Supervisor (3rd Shift)
Summary:River Point Farms is seeking a proactive and results-orientedSanitation Supervisorto lead all sanitation activities within a fresh-cut onion plant. The role ensures compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal food-safety standards, guides the sanitation team, and partners with Production, Maintenance, QA, and Safety to maintain hygienic operations and drive continuous improvement.Responsibilities:Leads a sanitation team, assigns daily tasks and verifies completion in accordance with SSOPs.
Works alongside the sanitation team during deep cleans, equipment teardowns, and high-volume periods.
Coordinates Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks, daily sanitation activities, and production changeovers.
Ensures compliance with GFSI, FDA, USDA, GMPs, allergen control, and environmental sanitation requirements; maintains audit readiness.
Conducts and documents pre-operational inspections, including ATP swabs, visual checks, and equipment verification.
Oversees and participates in cleaning and sanitizing of production lines, onion-cutting equipment, conveyors, tanks, drains, floors, and common areas.
Ensures proper teardown, sanitation, safe chemical mixing and use, and reassembly of equipment; operates sanitation tools safely.
Collaborates with Production and Quality on root-cause analysis and implements corrective and preventive actions for sanitation-related issues.
Identifies and recommends improvements to sanitation processes, equipment design, hygienic zoning, and chemical efficiency.
Maintains sanitation logs, MSS records, chemical-usage documentation, and audit-ready sanitation files; manages sanitation supplies, chemicals, PPE, and vendor coordination (pest control/chemicals).
Qualifications:2+ years of experience in sanitation management or supervision, preferably in the food-processing industry; previous supervisory experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead hourly sanitation teams and execute complex tasks while managing multiple, occasionally conflicting priorities.
Knowledge of USDA and FDA inspection procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices; understanding of pest-control practices and ability to identify pests.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Meets the physical requirements of the role which includes regularly lifting and moving up to 50lbs, visual acuity, and standing/walking.
Must be able to work 3rd shift (10:00 PM-6:30 AM).
