Transportation Utility Worker (Evening Shift)

School Bus Driver Salary Range: $13.80 - 16.09 / Hourly Work Days: 238 - Evening Shift Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED Preferred: Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class A or B), with P & S Endorsements or must obtain within 90 days of date of hire Special Knowledge/Skills: Must have basic knowledge of diesel and gasoline vehicles Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repairs Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as a safety-sensitive employee, will be subject to random substance abuse screening under District policy Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training and attend safety meetings and in-service meetings in order to remain qualified Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with students, parents and all school district personnel Ability to lift and assist students when necessary, must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the school bus/van Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safety driving and work habits Must have the ability to maintain effective pupil behavior management over groups of children Ability to follow verbal instructions Must have acceptable driving record Must be physically fit to perform the required job functions Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language Required Documents: Copy of High School Diploma or Equivalent Copy of driver's license Current resume It is the policy of Clint ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, religion, handicap or age in its employment practices as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
