Transportation Manager

Kinsa is recruiting for a: Transportation & Logistics Manager / Food Manufacturing Location: Long Island, NY (Onsite)Our client, a food manufacturer based in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations for a complex supply chain network. This role manages transportation across domestic and international suppliers while ensuring efficient distribution of finished goods to customers including retailers, distributors, e-commerce partners, and foodservice accounts.Compensation/Benefits:$90,000 - $100,000 Base Salary10% Bonus targetMedical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, LTD, etc.401k with company matchPTO and Holiday payRelocation assistanceKey Responsibilities and Goals:Manage all inbound and outbound transportation operations including parcel, LTL, truckload (TL), intermodal, and international freight.Coordinate inbound shipments of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging from domestic and global suppliers.Oversee outbound distribution of finished goods to retailers, distributors, e-commerce partners, and foodservice customers.Develop routing strategies and transportation plans to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers including contract negotiations and performance monitoring.Coordinate international shipments including ocean and air freight while ensuring compliance with customs documentation and import regulations.Analyze freight costs, monitor transportation KPIs, and identify opportunities to optimize logistics efficiency and service levels.Competencies Needed for Success:5-10+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.Experience managing domestic and international freight operations including parcel, LTL, and truckload shipping programs .Strong knowledge of carrier management, freight negotiation, and transportation cost optimization .Experience working within food manufacturing, CPG, or temperature-sensitive product environments preferred .Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and strong data analysis skills.Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferredReferrals are our best source for the top talent our clients need so if you know of anyone with these skills in the food and beverage industry, please pass me their name and email/phone number, or share this job posting with them.
