Location: Irving, TXSalary: $81.00 USD Hourly - $87.00 USD HourlyDescription: Specialty Software Engineer (Contingent Resource)Location: Irving, TXWork Model: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)About The RoleIn this contingent assignment, you will support large-scale and complex software engineering initiatives with broad organizational impact. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to design, evaluate, and implement platform and DevOps solutions that improve engineering efficiency, reliability, and compliance-particularly within Python-based ecosystems.ResponsibilitiesConsult on complex, multi-dimensional software engineering initiatives requiring large-scale planning and long-term execution.Analyze and solve Specialty Software Engineering challenges that involve multiple variables, including ambiguous or unprecedented constraints.Contribute to the resolution of complex technical scenarios by applying deep knowledge of engineering practices, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.Collaborate strategically with client and partner teams to align technical solutions with business and delivery objectives.Lead platform engineering best practices by establishing CI/CD patterns, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates, and reusable "golden-path" repositories.Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD automation, GitHub Actions, and DevSecOps pipelines.Advocate for and implement DevSecOps, GitOps (EPLX), and DORA metrics with a strong focus on Python and Conda-based workflows.Contribute to and engage with open-source ecosystems, including Conda-Forge and the Pixi package manager.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of experience in Specialty Software Engineering or equivalent experience demonstrated through work, consulting, education, training, or military service.6+ years of professional Python development experience.Demonstrated experience with:Open-source contributions (e.g., Conda-Forge, Pixi Package Manager).CI/CD automation and GitHub Actions.DevOps practices and tooling.Infrastructure automation and scripting.6+ years of experience in each of the following:Python automation and scriptingDevOps (CI/CD) environmentsGitHub and source control workflowsPreferred Qualifications2-4 years of experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies.4-6 years of experience with advanced Python coding and Python libraries.2-4 years of experience applying Python to data or machine-learning-related workloads.Strong understanding of cloud-native delivery models, security-first engineering, and scalable platform design.By providing your phone number, you consent to: (1) receive automated text messages and calls from the Judge Group, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively "Judge") to such phone number regarding job opportunities, your job application, and for other related purposes.
