POSITION SUMMARY
As part of a collaborative, dynamic, multidisciplinary team, the PCU RN provides direct patient care, delegating those interventions which may be performed by others, and takes a lead role in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care with a focus on restoring and promoting patient health and well-being, and partners with patients, families, and the care team in the planning and coordination of care.
DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit providing care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care. In addition, we see higher level of care patients, including but not limited to those on BiPap, titratable drips, or with hemodynamic instability requiring more frequent interventions and monitoring. The PCU is a 24/7/365 service with 25 beds. The team includes hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy and respiratory collaborating together to provide the best patient care possible.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduate of RN accredited program required, BSN Preferred.
Experience
Ambulatory Care or Same Day Surgery experience
Recent critical care or pre/post surgical experience
ACLS Certification
Computer skills and previous electronic charting experience
Licensure/Certification:
Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Vermont required or compact license required

Normal or corrected vision/hearing.
Lifting and/or moving patients from one point to another.
Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155
In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
