Slitter Operator - 2nd Shift

The company is committed to quality, innovation, and building strong partnerships in the steel industry. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Slitter Operator role based in Ada, MI. The Slitter Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating slitting machines with precision to cut metal coils into strips of specified widths. Key tasks include machine adjustments, inspecting materials for quality and defects, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and adhering strictly to safety protocols. The role requires working closely with team members, following production schedules, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Qualifications Proficiency in operating and setting up slitting machines, including knowledge of tools and equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenanceAttention to detail, with experience in inspecting materials for quality and identifying defectsUnderstanding of safety protocols, coupled with the ability to follow industry safety regulationsEffective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a teamProblem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issuesPrevious experience in metal processing or manufacturing is preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications are a plus
