Regional Director of Quality Assurance

The Regional Director of Food Safety & Quality (FSQA) provides enterprise-level leadership for all food safety, regulatory, and quality assurance programs supporting commissary and manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with FDA, USDA/FSIS, and GFSI standards while driving a strong food safety culture, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The Director partners with Operations, Supply Chain, and Leadership to protect consumers, customers, and brand integrity.Supporting Areas:• Melbourne, FL• Lenexa, KS• Longview, TX• San Fernando, CAKey ResponsibilitiesFood Safety & Quality SystemsLead development, implementation, and maintenance of the Food Safety PlanEnsure HACCP, FSMA Preventive Controls, GMPs, sanitation, and supply chain controls meet regulatory and corporate requirementsMaintain deep understanding of facility process flow and hazardsOversee product shelf-life programs and validation activitiesSupport implementation of new technologies and continuous improvement initiativesAudits, Compliance & RegulatoryLead and support FDA, USDA/FSIS, GFSI, customer, and third-party auditsOwn audit readiness, execution, responses, and corrective action closureEnsure compliance with food safety regulations and industry best practicesSupport investigations and responses to food safety or quality concernsLeadership & CultureBuild, develop, and motivate high-performing FSQA teamsServe as a food safety subject-matter expert and trusted advisorFoster a proactive, risk-based food safety cultureProvide coverage as needed to support staffing and operationsCross-Functional PartnershipPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, and Regulatory teamsTranslate technical requirements into practical, executable actionsSupport organizational goals related to customer satisfaction and growthWhat Success Looks Like in This RoleProactively identifies and mitigates food safety risksLeads audits and regulatory interactions with confidence and credibilityBuilds accountability across QA and Operations teamsCommunicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersRemains effective in fast-paced, high-risk environmentsQualificationsRequired10+ years of progressive FSQA experience in food manufacturing or commissary environmentsExtensive HACCP and FSMA Preventive Controls program experienceStrong FDA and USDA/FSIS regulatory knowledgeHACCP and PCQI certifications requiredProven leadership of GFSI certification programs (SQF preferred)PreferredBachelor’s degree in food science or related fieldSeafood HACCP certificationExperience in prepared foods, meat, poultry, seafood, or distributionStrong audit management, data analysis, and technical writing skillsWork EnvironmentFast-paced manufacturing and commissary environments; reasonable accommodations available.
