Senior Java Developer
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will focus on designing and implementing complex Java-based healthcare integration solutions that support public health applications. You will work closely with healthcare subject matter experts, business analysts, QA, and customer stakeholders to translate data requirements into reliable technical designs. The position also offers the opportunity to improve architecture, strengthen maintainability, and enhance automated testing in a highly collaborative environment.
Location: Remote
Compensation: $107,900 – $195,050 annually
Responsibilities:
Independently design and implement complex Java-based healthcare integration solutions Interpret HL7 CDA specifications and translate healthcare data requirements into technical designs Troubleshoot complex data exchange, validation, and interoperability issues Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level developers Collaborate effectively with healthcare SMEs, business analysts, QA, and customer stakeholders Identify opportunities to improve application architecture, maintainability, and automated testing
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Java Hands-on experience with HL7 standards, particularly Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) Strong knowledge of XML, XSD, XPath, and related XML processing technologies Experience with relational databases, SQL, and data mapping/transformation Ability to analyze complex technical problems and independently design and implement solutions Experience implementing and troubleshooting Schematron rules for HL7 CDA document validation
