Network Engineer

Network Engineer – Cisco / Fortinet / Meraki*Contract to Hire**Primarily remote, but need to reside in phoenix area for occasional office visits*We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, deploy, secure, optimize, and support enterprise network infrastructure across a multi-site environment. This role requires strong hands-on experience across Cisco, Fortinet, and Meraki technologies, with particular emphasis on routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, network security, and high-availability solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, install, configure, troubleshoot, and support enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure.Develop network designs, diagrams, standards, and technical documentation.Configure and support Cisco Catalyst switching environments.Deploy and optimize Cisco Meraki and Fortinet wireless solutions.Configure and support Fortinet firewalls, SD-WAN, advanced security policies, and highly available network solutions.Manage FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiClient EMS environments.Design and support OSPF and BGP routing.Configure and troubleshoot IPsec VPN tunnels, DIA, ISP, and MPLS connectivity.Manage network capacity, performance, traffic shaping, and prioritization.Troubleshoot complex network and application issues using protocol analyzers and deep packet inspection tools.Maintain network security, including device hardening, patching, security policies, logging, and auditing.Support networking within Microsoft Azure environments.Provide advanced network troubleshooting and technical support across enterprise environments.Qualifications3+ years of professional network engineering experience.Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Meraki technologies.Experience with Cisco Catalyst switches and enterprise wireless infrastructure.Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and SD-WAN.Experience with FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiClient EMS.Strong understanding of Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4 networking.Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting OSPF and BGP.Experience with IPsec VPNs, DIA, ISP, and MPLS circuits.Experience with Microsoft Azure networking.Experience with network protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark.Understanding of high-availability network architecture, traffic management, and network security best practices.Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage networking, including Fibre Channel and iSCSI, is preferred.
