Job Description About the Role:The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods accurately and promptly. The operator will contribute to maintaining inventory accuracy by assisting with order picking and using RF scanners to track shipments. Safety and compliance with operational protocols are paramount to prevent accidents and damage to products or equipment. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator supports the overall supply chain process by facilitating smooth warehouse operations and timely order fulfillment.Minimum Qualifications:Valid forklift operator certification or license as required by state regulations.Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and use RF scanners.Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications:Experience operating multiple types of forklifts including stand-up forklifts and clamp trucks.Familiarity with electric pallet jacks and general warehouse equipment.Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment.Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices in warehouse operations.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.Responsibilities:Operate forklifts, including stand-up forklifts, clamp trucks, and electric pallet jacks, to move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.Load and unload trucks, ensuring that goods are handled carefully to prevent damage.Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology to accurately pick orders and update inventory records.Inspect forklifts and equipment daily to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance needs.Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and operational efficiency.Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.Assist with general warehouse duties such as pallet jack operation, stacking, and inventory management as needed.Skills:The required skills such as forklift operation, electric pallet jack handling, and order picking are essential for daily tasks involving the safe and efficient movement of goods.
