Assistant Aquarist

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Assistant to join our team, providing support in various tasks related to microbiology, animal handling, and scientific research. The ideal candidate will assist in animal restraint, pet care, and contribute to environmental law and veterinary projects. Duties - Assist in microbiology experiments and research projects - Handle animals with care and proficiency - Conduct garden maintenance tasks - Provide support in pet care activities - Assist in scientific research tasks - Utilize GIS software for mapping and data analysis - Contribute to environmental law projects - Support veterinary-related activities - Apply knowledge of animal anatomy in relevant tasks Requirements - Proficiency in microbiology concepts and practices - Experience or willingness to learn animal restraint and handling techniques - Knowledge or interest in gardening practices - Ability to provide pet care with compassion and attention to detail - Familiarity with scientific research methodologies - Understanding of animal anatomy for relevant tasks - Basic knowledge of GIS software for mapping purposes - Background or interest in veterinary science - Awareness of environmental law principles Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week Schedule: 8 hour shift Holidays Ability to Relocate: Houston, TX 77084: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
