Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it.**Description**Responsible for innovating precision assembly and measurement processes, and driving continuous improvement in equipment yield, efficiency, and speed. Key stakeholder in design-for-manufacturing, process development, and assembly tolerance analysis. This work directly impacts the design, cost and quality of new, technically complex opto-electronics modules.**Minimum Qualifications**+ 3+ years of experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment design and qualification+ Ability to travel approximately 30-35%+ BSME or equivalent**Preferred Qualifications**+ 3 + years in an engineering role with experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment+ Required to understand and build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies+ Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis+ Understands machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility+ Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment+ New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired+ Proven track record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design required+ Working knowledge of GD&T principles favorable+ NX, SolidWorks CAD or ProE experiences a plus+ Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use for positioning and critical alignment machines+ Working knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and and PC-based control systems+ JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience preferredApple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
