Senior Cloud Architect*6-month contract-to-hire*Fully RemoteOptomi in partnership with our premier client, is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design and alignment of cloud architecture across enterprise platforms, ensuring consistency between practice capabilities and internal/back-office systems. This role will focus on establishing scalable, cloud-first frameworks across a multi-cloud environment (AWS, GCP, and Azure), while driving standardization, governance, and cost optimization.The ideal candidate is a senior-level architect who can operate as both a strategic advisor and hands-on contributor—defining enterprise architecture, guiding implementation, and ensuring alignment across teams and environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain enterprise cloud architecture across AWS, GCP, and Azure environmentsEnsure alignment of cloud platforms across practice capabilities and internal/back-office systemsEstablish and enforce architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organizationDrive cloud cost optimization strategies, including resource utilization, rightsizing, and financial governanceDesign scalable, cloud-native platforms with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainabilityLead efforts to reduce technical debt and transition to modern, cloud-first architecturesDevelop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies using Terraform and AWS CloudFormationArchitect and support deployment of containerized workloads using Kubernetes (EKS, AKS) and PaaS solutionsProvide hands-on support for architecture validation, implementation, and code reviewsGuide multi-cloud strategies, including workload placement and cross-platform design decisionsAct as a senior technical advisor, influencing cloud strategy, tooling, and long-term platform directionRequired Experience8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, and Azure)Strong hands-on experience with:Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required; CloudFormation preferred)Containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, AKS)Cloud-native architectures and PaaS solutionsDesigning and implementing small or enterprise ready solutions in multi-cloud environmentsInterviewing and collaborating with both business and development teams to understand and interpret requirements, offering solutions to requests that will best meet organizational requirements and needsImplementing requirements into dev, test/QA, and production environmentsExperience working in SOC, ISO, and other highly regulated and controlled environmentsHas at least functionally been in the role of architect but has also recently been someone who has been acting as a senior cloud engineer
