System Software Programmer

Job DescriptionJob Summary The Senior System Software Programmer will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and technical support of critical software systems. This includes leading data migration efforts, software implementation, mentoring junior developers, and focusing on systems related to water quality and safety. Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United StatesResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain software, especially for environmental and water-related applications.Perform manual and automated testing, troubleshoot, and resolve service desk issues.Collaborate with technical teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to refine software requirements.Guide junior developers and participate in code reviews.Assist with data migration by identifying dependencies and technical requirements.Maintain system and recovery documentation, ensuring compliance with security standards.Perform ad‑hoc tasks as needed.Required Skills & Certifications8+ years of software development experience, especially in government IT projects.8+ years in SQL optimization and stored procedures.3+ years experience with Water Quality/Safety Information Systems.Proficiency in C#, .NET, HTML, CSS.Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and software testing skills.Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software security best practices.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.Preferred Skills & CertificationsExperience with SDWIS, WQX, SWIFT, DW-SFTIES.Experience with Apache Tomcat, Java, and working with environmental agencies.Familiarity with service desk platforms and Microsoft Office.Special ConsiderationsRemote work is permitted, but candidates must reside in the Eastern or Central Time Zone.Scheduling Not specified.#J-18808-Ljbffr
