González-Rojas for State SenateFellows & Intern ProgramEmployment Type: Full-time, part-timeJessica González-Rojas (JGR) is running for State Senate because we deserve leadership that listens, builds trust, and delivers. González-Rojas is a current Assemblymember, activist, organizer, and reproductive justice leader. She is the daughter of an immigrant father from Paraguay and a Puerto Rican mother, and is a fierce advocate for people of color, immigrants, and LGBTQIA+ communities. This opportunity to work with JGR will bring you on the inside of a competitive race, expose you to all facets of a political campaign, and help you build your electoral and community organizing skills in an actionable, supported way. We have two programs to offer: Fellows and Interns. These are a great opportunity for anyone interested in politics, advocacy, or public service who wants to rapidly build up skills and make a real positive impact in their community. In either role, you will learn to build your skills on canvassing, campaign strategy, and electoral organizing. Fellows and Interns will play an active role in connecting with voters, building community support, and helping drive the campaign’s field and political efforts across the Queens neighborhoods of Jackson Heights, Corona, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst, and LeFrak City. You will gain applied skills in canvassing, volunteer engagement, research, and campaign strategy while working alongside experienced organizers and political staff.The Fellows program is a full-time commitment (40 hours a week) through June 23rd. There will be a $1,000 stipend offered to Fellows, and we are happy to provide letters of recommendation or certify hours for college credit where applicable.The Intern program requires a minimum of 3 shifts a week (15 hours a week) through June 23rd. There will be a small stipend offered to Interns to cover travel and food expenses, and we are happy to provide letters of recommendation or certify hours for college credit where applicable.Apply here!Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
