This role supports therapeutic patient care, monitors patient safety, assists with treatment interventions, and contributes to a supportive healing environment within the Psychiatric ICURequirementsRequired QualificationsLicensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)Minimum 1 year of psychiatric experienceCPI or TEAM certification preferredCPI may be completed onsiteHigh School Diploma or GEDPreferred QualificationsAssociate or Technical DegreeTwo years of experience in acute or long-term mental health settingsPrevious psychiatric ICU experienceImportant NotesNo on-call requirementsMental Health Technicians will not be acceptedKey ResponsibilitiesProvide direct psychiatric patient care using therapeutic communication techniquesMonitor patient behaviors, symptoms, safety, and environmental risksAssist with admissions, discharges, intake interviews, and patient orientationAdminister medications according to physician ordersUse de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategiesDocument patient observations, responses to care, and behavioral changesCollaborate with RNs, physicians, pharmacy staff, and interdisciplinary teamsParticipate in patient education and therapeutic/recreational activitiesConduct routine patient rounding and maintain a safe care environmentCertifications & LicensureLVN/LPN or LPT license requiredBLS certification requiredCPI or TEAM certification required/preferred
