Mid-Level Software Developer
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Mid-Level Software Developer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a developer with experience building scalable applications, working with cloud infrastructure, and contributing to data-driven platforms and services.
Our company develops decision engines, underwriting systems, model execution platforms, data platforms, and business intelligence solutions focused on the consumer and commercial lending industries. The ideal candidate is excited about solving complex technical problems in a highly analytical, data-centric, and model-driven environment and contributing across multiple areas of the software stack.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services
Collaborate with engineering, analytics, operations, and business stakeholders across internal and external teams
Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external data sources
Write and optimize SQL queries and interact with relational databases and data warehouses
Build backend systems and APIs using Python
Contribute to the development of client-facing platforms such as underwriting systems, decision engines, and model execution platforms
Work with cloud infrastructure and services, primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Participate in CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release processes
Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to system reliability and performance improvements
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices and technical documentation
Required Qualifications
3+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming principles
Experience working with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Experience using Git-based version control workflows
Experience writing and maintaining automated tests and familiarity with CI/CD concepts and workflows
Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and debugging skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with frontend development technologies such as JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, or similar frameworks
Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
Experience working with financial services, lending, underwriting, risk, or credit-related platforms
Exposure to data engineering concepts, ETL pipelines, or data warehouse technologies
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
Experience working with large datasets and data-intensive applications
Familiarity with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or machine learning workflows
Experience using data analysis tools and libraries such as Pandas or NumPy
Nice to Have
Experience supporting machine learning or statistical model deployment workflows
Exposure to workflow orchestration or event-driven architectures
Experience with monitoring, observability, and logging platforms
Understanding of security and compliance considerations in financial systems
