SUE Field Technician
Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionSubsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician assists the SUE team by designating and locating utilities to support all types of civil infrastructure projects including roadways, bridges, land developments, pipelines and more.Job ResponsibilitiesOperate electromagnetic locators and land surveying equipment to designate underground utilitiesOperate vacuum excavation equipment to safely expose subsurface utilitiesOperate core drillers, jackhammers, saws and other relevant equipment as needed in the fieldInterpret utility records, GIS and other documents to create field reference exhibitsRecord field notes and communicate to project managers and engineersCoordinate with utility owners and engineers in the fieldComprehend project details to understand utility data collection needsOperate survey and CADD software to accomplish tasksPromote safety as it pertains to field operationRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required0 - 2 years of experience for SUE Field Technician level 1 or 2 - 4 years of experience for SUE Field Technician level 2Valid Texas Driver's LicenseReliable transportationAbility to pass a drug test and background screenAbility to be active for extended periods of time in the heat and cold and changing weather conditionsAbility to travel around Texas for up to a week at a timeOvertime and weekend work may be required to complete tasks within project deadlinesWillingness to learn from other staffAbility to be flexible due to weather and multiple project timelinesWillingness to identify process and workflow improvementsLockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc.
