ApplyDescriptionDesign Professional II Non-licensed architecture professional having completed a minimum of six years of architecture related experience. Fully competent in all aspects of architecture. Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client's needs. Provides professional architectural consultation on large complex projects. Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs. Executes complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.Essential Functions Independently produces finished plans, specifications and approval of materials and construction on moderate to large scale projects Provide professional consultation and coordination of the planning and development of construction and design document production and provides technical expertise to ensure coordinated and high-quality documents Perform construction administration duties, such as site visits, RFI responses, submittals, and punch list reviews Create and review projects reports, estimates, calculations, specifications, and compile/analyze relevant data Responsible to monitor billing efficiency rates and work at maximizing team’s quality and efficiency in assigned tasks Proactively coordinates meetings with client, project team, consultants, and contractor meetings to ensure trust and confidence Provide technical guidance to less experienced project associates and interns Involve explorations of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation, and development of complex or novel concepts and methods Contribute innovative design ideas that consistently capture the intended design vision Contribute to bold design solutions that balance scale, aesthetics, and context to maximize the impact to the individual and communityRequirementsCompetencies: Proficiency in Revit required Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites required (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Proficiency with Sketchup and Rhino. Lumion, Enscape, Twinmotion, and V-Ray is a plus Possess a balanced blend of design and technical skills Knowledge in the design process, construction documentation and construction administration Strong working knowledge of zoning and building codes, CBC Chapter 11B, specifications, building /engineering systems and agency requirements (NFPA, ADAAG, FGI, OBC, IBC etc) Knowledge of Affordable Housing policies, funding sources and legislative measures Knowledge of land use and zoning relative to affordable housing is welcome Understanding of how to generate housing yield studies and test fits Knowledge of affordable housing entitlement process with governing authorities and client Skilled in completing entitlements drawings packages for affordable housing Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Ability to meet schedule deadlines and work within the client's budget Excellent organization and client presentation skills Passion for providing exceptional client service Collaborative and professional work ethicCertification Requirements NoneSupervisory Requirements Provide supervision for project associates or interns as neededWork Environment This position operates in a professional open office environment with low to moderate noise levels including collaborative work areas for team meetings. Each office provides collaborative work areas and shared resources such as video conferencing, printing/scanning, and a café for dining. Building construction sites may include varying temperatures, wind, dust, and noise levels and may include hazardous and dirty conditions.Physical Demands Hand/Wrist/Finger dexterity for 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week Ability to lift a set of construction documents Ability to sit for long periods of timePosition/Hours expected to work This is a full-time position with the expectation of working a minimum of 40 hours per weekTravel Occasional travel depending on project assignmentsRequired Education And Experience Bachelor of Science in Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited university preferred Master of Architecture preferred A minimum of six years of architecture related experienceWork Authorization Sponsorship may be consideredSalary Description$72,000-96,200
