Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, supporting clinicians with procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and providing patients with compassionate and informed care. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, medical assisting knowledge, and a commitment to teamwork and service excellence.Key responsibilities include fulfilling patient care responsibilities as directed by physicians or other clinicians, preparing and maintaining clean, organized exam rooms, instruments, and equipment, assisting with clinical procedures and medical documentation as needed, supporting patient flow and maintaining effective communication with patients and providers, greeting patients warmly, using their name, and maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor, responding quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, and following all clinic safety, infection control, and operational procedures.Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least six (6) months of experience working in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant or similar healthcare role, and basic life support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. Preferred qualifications include graduation from an accredited medical assisting program. Substitution allowed: completion of an accredited medical assisting program in lieu of the six-month experience requirement.Skills and abilities include strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain smooth clinic workflow, proficiency with basic computer use; EMR experience preferred, ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a care team, completion of required training programs within designated time frames, competence in motivational interviewing and teach-back techniques (or willingness to learn), and calm and effective response during patient emergencies.Why West Cancer Center is a great place to work includes meaningful impact, collaborative culture, professional development, and a mission-driven environment.
