Code Sensei
Do you enjoy working with kids? Are you curious about technology and excited by the chance to help young people build confidence?
We’re looking for a warm, dependable, and energetic Code Sensei to join our team. Code Senseis guide children through coding projects, help them work through challenges, and create an environment where learning feels fun.
You do not need to be an expert programmer or a certified teacher. We’ll provide training, curriculum, and ongoing support. What matters most is that you connect well with kids, communicate clearly, and are willing to keep learning alongside them.
What You’ll Do
As a Code Sensei, you will:
Welcome students and help them feel comfortable and included
Guide children through our coding curriculum and project-based activities
Ask thoughtful questions that help students solve problems independently
Encourage creativity, persistence, and confidence
Keep students engaged while maintaining a calm, positive learning environment
Track student progress and share helpful updates with teammates and families
Assist with camps, clubs, birthday parties, workshops, or special events as needed
Help keep the center clean, organized, and ready for students
Learn new tools, games, and technologies with support from our team

Can balance fun with clear expectations
Feel comfortable using computers and learning new software
Communicate professionally with students, parents, and coworkers
Respond to challenges with curiosity and a problem-solving mindset
Are available during [required days and hours]
Experience with programming, education, tutoring, summer camps, robotics, gaming, or youth programs is helpful, but it is not required.
Helpful Technical Experience
Familiarity with any of the following is a plus but not required:
Scratch or block-based coding
JavaScript, Python, Lua, Java, or C#
Roblox, Minecraft, Unity, or game development
Robotics, electronics, or 3D design
Computer science coursework

What Success Looks Like
A successful Code Sensei is someone students look forward to seeing. They help kids feel capable without simply giving them the answers. They are attentive, reliable, and engaged—and they work with the rest of the team to make every student’s experience a positive one.
Requirements
Must be at least 16
Must be able to work 1-2 nights per week and Saturdays.
Must be able to pass any required background screening
Must have reliable transportation to our location.
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Pay: From $9.00 per hour
