Parts Sales Representative
United Ag & Turf NE is a John Deere Dealership with multiple locations across the Northeast. United Ag & Turf NE serves customers in a variety of industries such as commercial, construction, agricultural, as well as consumers. United Ag & Turf NE strives for exceptional customer experience throughout all our locations and departments including parts, sales, service, and transportation.
Purpose:
Selling service parts, bulk fluids, attachments, and accessories. In addition, performs in-store customer service, overall organizational promotion, and stocking duties. Identifies and provides complete parts solutions for customers.
Responsibilities:
Quickly establish rapport and relationship with customers
Provides quality customer experience through knowledge, use of systems, and process execution
Provides parts recommendations including alternatives that meet customers’ needs
Fulfills online orders in timely manner and places in will call area
Effective use of computer applications including Sales Manual, JD Parts®, Parts Expert®, JD Point®, PartsAdvisor®, barcode system and Dealer Business System
Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required
Assists with preparing and maintaining professional showroom image and merchandise displays
Maintains inventory integrity by verifying receipting-in of shipments and assisting with placing parts orders in their proper inventory locations; assisting in cycle counts; following up on inventory discrepancies and expediting issues by reporting to the Parts Sales Lead
Assists in keeping parts department clean and orderly
Assists in maintaining all departmental tools and equipment in good working order
Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
Ensure that company’s reputation and image in the community is consistent with company Core Values
Safely operate a forklift and other related equipment as needed
Willingness to work Saturdays
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
High School diploma or equivalent experience
Ability to connect with customers, maintain professional image, establish rapport
Understands basic selling processes
Basic data entry/keyboarding skills and experience utilizing basic computer programs, for example Microsoft based products
Experience working both independently and in team settings
Physical ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Highly developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Basic parts and machinery knowledge
Willingness to work Saturdays
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Working Conditions:
Hazards from electrical, mechanical and power equipment
Risk of exposure to chemicals such as oils, antifreeze, volatile hydrocarbons, and battery acid
Extremes of weather
Mists, fumes and non-continuous noises of varying sound level and intensities
Dust from hose saws
To combat these potential dangers and risk hazards, Parts Salespersons must follow strict safety procedures, proper equipment and warehouse safety, and PPE.
