Staff Physician - Surgical House Resident Moonlighter

Surgical House Moonlighter PositionJoin the Surgical House Moonlighter Team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. As a Surgical House Moonlighter, you will: Perform surgical assessment, evaluation, history and physical exam, and consultation on patients regarding potential or recognized surgical conditions, complications of surgery or trauma, or change of status issues in the postoperative period. Assist in operating room, order appropriate lab work and consult with attending physician on inpatients with major illnesses or injuries. Core privileges also include but are not limited to: Performance of emergent procedures such as: insertion of chest tubes, central lines, pulmonary artery catheter, and cricothyrotomy. Qualifications: Completion of (at least) the first two years of an ACGME or AOA-approved surgery residency program; meeting the requirements of the specific residency program enrolled in Have a medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria for credentialing and privileges. Compensation and Benefits: M Physicians will provide compensation in the amount of $170 per hour. This casual position is not benefits-eligible. M Physicians will provide Professional Liability/Medical Malpractice Insurance. M Health and Clinical Partnerships: Providers practice at affiliated locations under the M Health Fairview shared care delivery system. This partnership represents a collaboration between University of Minnesota Physicians, University of Minnesota Medical Center and Fairview Health to build a nationally known academic health system that combines academic and community resources to provide the very best clinical care to patients and communities, while also supporting research and education across the joint healthcare delivery system.
