This role will leverage deep electrical engineering expertise to develop, design, integrate, test, and qualify electrical components for launch vehicles and spacecraft systems.In this position, you will take ownership of designs and requirements definition while actively participating in integration, testing, and qualification throughout the hardware development lifecycle. Headquartered in north Austin, Texas, Firefly is seeking passionate, hardworking innovators to help fuel the company's continued success.Sound like a good fit?What You'll DoDevelop new features and functionality as part of the design team for Firefly's common avionics platform used across launch vehicles and spacecraftParticipate in technical trade studies, requirement capture, and conceptual and detailed design activitiesCreate and own schematic capture and PCB layout activities, including rapid prototyping and EEE component selectionExecute electrical simulations and analyses to support flight, qualification, and test laboratory PCB assembliesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, mechanical, software, and test engineering to develop tightly integrated, high-performance hardwareApply aerospace guidelines and standards for the development and design of electronic assembliesJob RequirementsWhat You'll BringBachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent5+ years of experience in PCB design, hardware systems design, and/or integrationStrong skills in schematic capture and digital, analog, and power circuit PCB layoutExperience with end-to-end definition, requirements generation, block-diagram design, component selection, and circuit simulationStrong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to drive issues to root cause and resolutionExperience using electrical test equipment to verify component and circuit functionalityExcellent organizational skills and experience working with vendorsAbility to work collaboratively, be proactive, and execute with minimal guidance What Sets You ApartExperience developing and testing complex electronic systems combining hardware, firmware, and softwareExperience with spacecraft avionics systems design, development, production, test, and operationsExperience using Altium or similar tools to design complex aerospace boardsFamiliarity with the V-model design methodologyUnderstanding of space radiation environments and their effects on electronic componentsExperience working with a variety of sensor types and associated analog and digital interfacesFamiliarity with NASA GEVS or SMC-016 environmental testing standardsAdditional Information:After you apply, you may receive a call or message from our AI Talent Scout about this role or other opportunities that match your skills and preferences.
