The ideal candidate will be able to leverage their experience and business acumen to provide leadership and hands-on oversight of day-to-day accounting responsibilities. The Senior Accountant should be an organized and self-directed team member with excellent communication skills. As our business is continually evolving, the ideal candidate will be comfortable with change management and have the ability to adapt to changes in responsibilities.Primary Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Accountant should expect their responsibilities to include, but not be limited to:Manage month end close process of business unit, including preparation and review of journal entries, financial statement consolidation, variance analysis, and P&L review.Collaborate with business unit finance leads on GL setups and reporting needs.Generate treasury reports for executive management, including comprehensive details on cash inflows and outflows.Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for a business unit under direction of Accounting Director.Perform thorough account and variance analysis and communicate issues and resolutions in a timely, professional manner.Prepare and review reconciliations of general ledger accounts as part of the month end closing process.Develop process documentation for all areas of responsibility and update regularly.Organize and compile requested information for independent auditors.On a daily basis, oversee operational transactions of the Finance Department to ensure all transactions are entered into accounting systems in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. Ensure data integrity and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)Business partner with division leadership and team.Qualifications/RequirementsThe ideal Senior Accountant candidate should bring with them:College degree in related field. Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.5 or more years’ relevant work experience. Experience in manufacturing or consumer goods a plus.Strong leadership and supervisory skills.Knowledgeable of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.Well organized and self-directed with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to independently complete multiple time-sensitive tasks.Inquisitive mindset and ability to drive process improvements.Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with customers at all levels, both internally and externally.Previous experience with ERP systems.Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) with ability to use pivot tables and lookup Excel functionality.Desire for professional and personal growth.Brown Jordan is an Equal Opportunity Employer & Drug Free Workplace.
