Purpose of Job: This position reports to the Production Group Leader, Supervisor, and Manager, and is responsible for manufacturing metal stamping by running presses, inspecting parts, and keeping work areas organized.Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses:This position prefers a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, tow-motor license useful.Minimum experience required:None required, entry level positionRequirementsEssential Responsibilities:1) Efficiently hang coils and start strips in dies.2) Accurately, inspect parts using precision measuring tools and gages to maintain quality parts.3) Timely move parts away from press with pallet jack to appropriate location.4) Efficiently operate presses and other machines at the designated rate.5) Effectively assist in setting dies per work instructions and processes and procedures6) Proficiently assist Tooling Associates in the maintenance of dies.7) Accurately perform and follow all general machine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) maintenance programs8) Accurately set up, check, and/or adjust die protection devices to assure proper operation.9) Proficiently check and adjust all safety devices and related equipment in the assigned work area.10) Accurately set up and adjust the following: progression; shut height; air pressure on hyson, knockout and blow offs; chutes; conveyors; shakers; vibrators; scrap belts; part belts; cradles; reels; feeders and straighteners to present stock material effectively.11) Efficiently set up and test lubrication and coolant systems, filling and refilling the reservoirs with appropriate lubricants and fluids.12) Adequately operate overhead cranes to assist in loading coils and use of pallet jacks in movement of parts, materials and other needed items.13) Assist and provide effective and efficient training to other associates.14) Proficient on Plex system keeping entries accurate and true (work center status)15) Thoroughly cleaning work area, putting all items in appropriate locations.16) Complete Pay for Skills and Training Within Industry (TWI) programs in a timely manner.17) Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.Tools and Equipment Used:Pallet JackPart LifterPlexCalipers, micrometers, indicators, gagesOverhead cranesFloor ScrubberTool BoardsCherry PickerPlasma cutterSupervisory Responsibilities:This position does not supervise others.Work Ethic Responsibilities:ETHICS: Enthusiasm, Teamwork, Honesty, Integrity, Character and Self-MotivatedAbsenteeism/tardiness: Is conscientious in being at work when scheduled and on time.Productivity: Perform the highest possible amount of quality work in the least or standard amount of time. Adhere to 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.Environmental: Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool and Die (BTD). Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.Other: Perform any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and without complaint.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is continually required to work around machinery. The employee is frequently required to push/pull wrenches and pry bars. The employee occasionally is required to work in pit under presses or underground scrap conveyors. The employee will also be required to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.Please note that these physical demands are based on a typical work day.
