Commercial HVAC Technician

Job Description Commercial HVAC Technician – MillerWorks (Tallahassee, FL)MillerWorks in Tallahassee is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician to join a team known for quality workmanship, reliability, and strong customer service. This role supports commercial and industrial clients with diagnostics, maintenance, and system repairs. Key Responsibilities• Maintain, repair, and overhaul chillers, boilers, RTUs, air handlers, pumps, and refrigeration systems (chiller and boiler experience a plus but not required)• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant‐related issues using meters, gauges, and diagnostic tools• Operate and calibrate EMS and DDC controls to improve system performance and efficiency (Controls experience a plus but not required)• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation• Replace or repair components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, and fans• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for installations and troubleshooting• Recover, recharge, and handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations• Document service calls, maintenance activities, and parts and refrigerant usage• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs and system operation• Ensure all work meets safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations• Utilize Dispatch software for workflow and documentation Required Skills & Qualifications• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical training or apprenticeship preferred• EPA Section 608 Certification (required)• 2–5 years of HVAC installation, service, or repair experience• Strong understanding of electrical circuits, refrigeration cycles, and system diagnostics• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, and wiring schematics• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments• Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail• Professional communication and customer service skills• Ability to work on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and in varied environmental conditions• Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in demanding spaces Working ConditionsTechnicians may work on rooftops, in high‐rise buildings, manufacturing facilities, or institutional environments. Overtime, weekend work, and on‐call rotations may be required for emergency service needs.
