Job DescriptionWe are actively hiring experienced Shipfitters to support submarine construction and shipyard production in the Hampton Roads area. If you know your way around blueprints, structural steel, and tight-tolerance fabrication, this is your chance to put your skills to work on some of the most advanced vessels in the world.\nThis role is ideal for skilled shipyard professionals who thrive in fast-paced industrial environments and take pride in precision craftsmanship.\n Shipfitter Responsibilities:\n\n\nFabricate, assemble, and install structural steel components for submarine and ship construction\n\n\nRead and interpret shipyard blueprints, weld symbols, and layout drawings\n\n\nFit bulkheads, foundations, frames, brackets, and deck structures\n\n\nPerform tack welding, grinding, burning, and alignment as required\n\n\nUse hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment accurately\n\n\nWork safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in industrial environments\n\n\nCollaborate with welders, pipefitters, and production teams to meet project deadlines\n\n\n Shipfitter Qualifications:\n\n\nPrior shipyard shipfitting experience strongly preferred\n\n\nExperience in submarine construction or naval shipbuilding is a plus\n\n\nAbility to read blueprints and structural drawings\n\n\nComfortable working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum\n\n\nMust be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks\n\n\nFamiliarity with OSHA shipyard safety standards\n\n\nReliable transportation and strong attendance\n\n\n What We Offer:\n\n\nCompetitive hourly pay based on experience\n\n\nOvertime opportunities\n\n\nLong-term shipyard projects\n\n\nWeekly pay\n\n\nSupportive recruiting team that understands shipyard trades\n\n\nOpportunities for advancement\n\n
