Branch Office Manager - Civil Engineering ConsultingA well‑established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Branch Office Manager to lead its regional operations in Cartersville, GA. This role is ideal for a seasoned civil engineering professional with strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and proven experience managing teams and client relationships within the consulting environment.The successful candidate will oversee day‑to‑day office operations, guide project teams, support business development efforts, and ensure the consistent delivery of high‑quality engineering services. This position requires a strong understanding of civil engineering practices, operational management, and the ability to drive both project and regional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OperationsDirect and support employees within the branch office.Ensure company standards, policies, and procedures are upheld.Help establish annual office goals related to workload, financial targets, and new bookings-and take ownership of achieving them.Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality management protocols.Foster a positive team culture and encourage collaboration with other offices across the organisation.Provide regular updates and strategic insights to senior leadership regarding office performance and operational needs.Present an annual office performance summary to company leadership.Administrative OversightPrepare annual capital expenditure requests for the branch.Assist with identifying new office locations and coordinating lease negotiations when needed.Oversee office systems, equipment, and organizational processes.Human Resources SupportAssess staffing capacity and communicate hiring needs to leadership.Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding activities.Help employees set and achieve professional development goals.Provide input during annual performance and compensation reviews.Conduct investigations and implement corrective actions when appropriate.Business DevelopmentLead and coordinate regional business development initiatives.Build relationships with new clients and support project managers in maintaining existing partnerships.Identify and forecast upcoming business opportunities within the region.Manage business development budgets and coordinate requests for marketing support and materials.QualificationsActive Georgia Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity.Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil or environmental engineering consulting.Demonstrated success in client development and winning new work.Broad understanding of the legal and contractual elements of consulting engineering.Strong grasp of corporate financial and operational principles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Willingness to take responsibility for the overall performance of the branch.Must have valid authorization to work in the United States.BenefitsThis organisation offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical and dental insurancePaid time off plus 9 company holidays401(k) with employer match (no vesting period)Health savings accountCompany‑paid life, short‑term, and long‑term disability coverageBonus opportunities and employee investment optionsFlexible work schedulesTuition assistanceProfessional training and development programs
