Sterile Processing Technician

Role: Certified Sterile Processing Technician responsible for the proper processing of surgical equipment and instruments.Adheres to policies on decontamination, sterilization, and safe handling to ensure quality patient care.Communicates with the surgical team regarding schedule changes and instrument tray needs.Maintains accurate records of sterilization processes and manages inventory systematically.Assists with preparing supplies, equipment, and linen for procedures and departments.Supports quality improvement and cost-containment initiatives.Works effectively with team members, demonstrating professionalism and respect.Requires certification in Central Sterile Processing or willingness to obtain it within one year; BLS certification after 30 days.Previous healthcare experience preferred; must communicate effectively and be attentive to detail.Must be able to report within 45 minutes on-call and work day shifts Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.Key duties include: processing surgical instruments, maintaining supplies, documenting sterilization, and collaborating with staff to ensure safety and efficiency.
