Job Title: Associate OutfitterLocation: Shipyard in Slidell, LAJob Summary: The Senior Outfitter is responsible for overseeing and coordinating outfitting activities within the shipyard. This role involves leading a team of outfitters in the installation of various equipment and systems on vessels, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and schedule requirements.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and manage outfitting operations for shipbuilding projects. Coordinate the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure project specifications are met. Conduct inspections of installed systems for quality and compliance. Train and mentor junior outfitters and apprentices. Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA regulations. Schedule and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving outfitting issues as they arise. Prepare reports on project progress, material usage, and workforce efficiency. Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or degree preferred. 1-2+ years of experience in outfitting or related fields in a shipyard environment. Strong knowledge of ship systems, components, and technical specifications. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
