Every piece carries a story of mentorship, resilience, and hope.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Volunteer E-Commerce Manager to lead the digital storefront and online presence for Thread & Promise. This role will involve setting up, managing, and optimizing our e-commerce platform, ensuring customers enjoy a seamless shopping experience while supporting MAP’s mission. The ideal candidate has a blend of technical and creative skills, with experience in online retail and a passion for purpose-driven fashion.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and manage the Thread & Promise online store (Shopify, Squarespace, WooCommerce, or similar)Upload and maintain product listings with accurate descriptions, images, and pricingOversee order processing, fulfillment coordination, and customer inquiriesMonitor inventory and collaborate with design/production teams on availabilityOptimize site navigation, design, and checkout flow for usability and conversionsTrack e-commerce analytics and generate sales reportsSupport digital marketing campaigns, promotions, and product launchesEnsure branding and storytelling are consistent across the platformRequirementsProven experience in e-commerce management or online retail operationsFamiliarity with platforms like Shopify, Squarespace, WooCommerce, or similarStrong understanding of digital merchandising, product listings, and checkout flowsAbility to analyze sales and traffic data to inform improvementsExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesPassion for mission-driven work and socially conscious fashion5-10 hours per week Preferred SkillsExperience in nonprofit or social enterprise e-commerceKnowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and e-commerce marketing strategiesFamiliarity with email marketing and CRM toolsBasic design skills for product imagery and graphics (Canva, Photoshop, or similar)What You’ll GainHands-on experience managing an e-commerce platform for a purpose-driven brandOpportunities to combine technical skills with creative storytellingCollaboration with a mission-driven, passionate teamA portfolio project showcasing e-commerce management with social impactLetters of recommendation and professional references for future opportunitiesHow to ApplyInterested candidates should apply directly through Idealist.For any additional questions or concerns, please email us directly at hr@mentorapromise.orgHelp us bring Thread & Promise online — where every purchase carries a message of mentorship, resilience, and hope.Thank you for your interest in volunteering with our organization.
