Senior Consultant / Senior Accountant📍 Arizona or Colorado Preferred | Remote with Client TravelThe James Vincent Group (JVG) is a specialized consulting and accounting firm serving Fire Districts, EMS organizations, and public sector entities. Our team partners closely with District leadership and Boards to provide strategic financial guidance, operational support, and long-term financial sustainability solutions.This is not a traditional back-office accounting role. We are seeking professionals who combine strong accounting expertise with a client-service mindset and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor.Our consultants work directly with clients, helping organizations navigate financial operations, reporting, budgeting, process improvements, and strategic initiatives in a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.What You’ll DoServe as a financial and operational advisor to Fire District and EMS clientsBuild strong client relationships through regular communication and on-site collaborationPerform monthly financial reviews and reportingSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial trend analysisAssist with audit preparation and external audit coordinationReview accounting processes and recommend operational improvementsPrepare Board-level financial reports and presentationsAnalyze financial data and provide strategic recommendationsSupport the development of sustainable financial strategiesEstablish and maintain accounting processes aligned with GAAP, GASB, and industry standardsCollaborate with leadership and clients on special projects and consulting engagementsWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA preferred but not required4+ years of accounting, audit, advisory, or consulting experienceStrong understanding of financial reporting and accounting operationsExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsComfortable explaining financial concepts to non-accounting stakeholdersAbility to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environmentStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesWillingness to travel to client sites primarily within Arizona and ColoradoIdeal BackgroundsCandidates with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:Client Advisory Services (CAS)Outsourced AccountingPublic AccountingConsulting or Advisory ServicesController ServicesAudit with client-facing responsibilitiesGovernmental, nonprofit, or public sector accountingPreferred Experience & Technical SkillsStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principlesExposure to GASB standards and governmental accounting environments preferredExperience with fund accounting, grant accounting, or public sector accounting is highly valuedBackground supporting nonprofit, government, EMS, fire district, or public entity clients is a plusExperience with budgeting, audit support, and financial statement preparationAbility to analyze financial trends and support strategic financial planningWhy Join JVG?Fully remote team environment with meaningful client interactionOpportunity to grow into a high-impact consulting roleEntrepreneurial culture with significant ownership and autonomyDiverse and engaging client workCollaborative team focused on long-term client successWe are looking for thoughtful, adaptable professionals who enjoy solving problems, building relationships, and making a direct impact with clients.
