Associate Instructor
Job SummaryThis is a 0.10 FTE Associate Instructor position within the UPAP program in the Division of Physician Assistant Education and Sciences, St. George Campus. The clinical associate (CA) will work with a small group (4) of students and report to the CA Director and Program Director.
Required QualificationsA current NCCPA certification
Hold or be eligible for unrestricted Utah State PA licensure
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Interest in areas that align with our program mission is strongly preferred
A strong interest in scholarship and professional development
Three years of clinical experience is preferred
Providing current clinical work
ResponsibilitiesFacilitating and instructing the group in mastery of the Integrated physical exam, focused exams in HEENT /Neuro, Cardiopulmonary, GI, and Musculoskeletal systems.
Evaluating students with standardized patient encounters upon completion of each physical exam module.
Instruction in appropriate medical record production, specifically SOAP note production in conjunction with these OSCEs.
Facilitating the development of clinical problem-solving through the exploration of 16 clinical cases and one ethics case.
Instruction and development in SOAP note production and oral case presentations throughout the semester.
Participation in Clinical Practicum as a preceptor during the summer semester.
Giving oral and written feedback on both OSCE performance and SOAP note production.
Participation in faculty development and preseason meetings twice a year.
Grading of students at the end of each semester.
Participation in at least one admissions conference.
