Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer plays a vital role on our engineering team and is responsible for analysis, design and testing of electrical architecture and circuitry used in our fuel cell systems. This engineer would analyze/design new circuits or modify existing designs to achieve improved performance, cost and reliability. This individual needs to have a fundamental understanding of embedded designs in a hardened/industrial environment. This role also requires close interaction with supply chain, quality, manufacturing and service teams to ensure designs meet cross functional requirements. The ideal candidate should be creative, self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze, design, test and document electrical components and layouts for new and existing products
Perform various electrical tests for electrical and systems engineering
Write tests plans for printed circuit boards, electrical hardware and system
Perform system troubleshooting and author incident reports
Effectively incorporate field data from customers as well as manufacturing constraints within design work efforts; focus upon design elements that improve the end-user experience and increase manufacturability
Manage project assignments with a focus on delivering high caliber results in a timely fashion
Maintain an understanding of high priority engineering projects; be prepared to contribute as needed to priority projects
Build effective internal relationships with colleagues; work both inter-departmentally and cross-functionally as needed for project assignments
Seek opportunities to grow knowledge of Company products while also furthering engineering knowledge through internal collaboration
Represent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfaction
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience; experience within a manufacturing operation is highly preferred
Embedded system design and analysis experience required
Ability to travel as needed to carry out duties of the position – up to 20%
Experience in C with an understanding of writing code and drivers for embedded systems
Demonstrated aptitude in designing and building electronic subsystems
Experience in digital and analog circuit design and analysis
Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Teamwork oriented and focused
Superior communication skills
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
Excellent follow-through
Must be driven and self-motivated
Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
Pay Rate:
$69,900.00 - $104,900.00
