Controller
The Controller is responsible for leading the Company's accounting operations while providing accurate financial reporting, sound financial guidance, and strategic support to ownership and leadership. This position ensures the integrity of Rig Source's financial information through effective accounting practices, strong internal controls, and timely reporting.
The Controller serves as a trusted business partner, working closely with ownership and department leaders to support informed decision-making, improve financial performance, and help position the company for continued growth. While responsible for the accounting department, the Controller is also a collaborative leader who develops team members, strengthens processes, and promotes a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
· Lead all day-to-day accounting operations.
· Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
· Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and financial records.
· Monitor company cash flow and financial performance.
· Develop financial forecasts and assist with annual budgeting.
· Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to ownership.
· Prepare financial reports and key performance indicators for leadership meetings.
Accounting Operations
· Oversee Accounts Receivable and provide leadership to the Staff Accountant.
· Review account reconciliations and journal entries.
· Ensure accurate recording of company assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
· Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
· Monitor inventory valuation and accounting accuracy.
· Assist in developing and improving accounting procedures and internal controls.
Payroll Oversight
· Review payroll prepared by Human Resources for accuracy prior to processing.
· Ensure payroll-related accounting entries are properly recorded.
· Maintain appropriate financial controls surrounding payroll processes.
Compliance & Reporting
· Coordinate with the Company's third-party CPA firm during year-end financial reporting and tax preparation.
· Assist with audit preparation and supporting documentation when required.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements.
· Maintain accurate business records and financial documentation.
Leadership & Collaboration
· Supervise and develop accounting team members.
· Foster a positive, collaborative, and service-oriented department.
· Partner daily with Operations, Sales, Rentals, Service, Parts, and Human Resources to support company objectives.
· Provide financial insight that helps departments make informed business decisions.
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen financial processes.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
· CPA designation preferred.
· Five or more years of Audit Experience, Controller, or Assistant Controller preferred.
· Experience supervising accounting staff.
· Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· Experience preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
· Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
· Experience working within a multi-department or multi-location organization is preferred.
· Heavy equipment, equipment rental, manufacturing, distribution, or construction industry experience is highly desirable.

The Controller is responsible for coaching, developing, and supporting team members while maintaining high standards of accountability and performance.
Physical Requirements
· Primarily office environment.
· Prolonged periods sitting at a computer workstation.
· Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
