OverviewAtkinsRéalis is seeking a Manager of Building Structures – Industrial to join our team in Exton, PA, leading a high-performing structural engineering group delivering complex, fast-paced design/build projects in the manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.This is a strategic leadership role for a senior structural engineer who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, team leadership, and client partnership. You will lead multidisciplinary collaboration, shape technical standards, and drive the delivery of critical infrastructure projects that support industrial innovation.Your roleLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a team of structural engineers and designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and collaborationGuide career development, conduct performance reviews, and support succession planningPartner with Practice and Technical Directors to build capability and elevate technical standardsTechnical Excellence & Project DeliveryServe as the technical authority for structural design on complex industrial projectsReview, approve, and ensure the quality of structural deliverables across the teamSign and seal designs where required, ensuring compliance with state regulationsLead structural design efforts for:Steel-framed buildings (industrial, manufacturing, and commercial support facilities)Concrete foundations, slabs, and specialty structuresApply advanced analysis methods and validate designs through engineering judgment and hand calculationsClient & Business ImpactAct as a trusted advisor to clients, defining project requirements and delivering solutions aligned to scope, budget, and scheduleSupport business development efforts, helping to grow client relationships and secure new workEnsure projects meet financial, schedule, and quality targets, contributing directly to business performance and backlog growthOperational ExcellenceDrive continuous improvement in design quality, project delivery, and team efficiencyChampion safety and compliance across all phases of design and constructionCollaborate cross-functionally with architecture, MEP, and process engineering teams to deliver integrated solutionsSupport construction through RFIs, shop drawing review, and technical guidanceAbout You Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred; MBA or leadership training a plus)Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain additional state licensure15+ years of structural engineering experience, including industrial project experience3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and delivering complex projectsStrong expertise in structural design tools (e.g., RISA, STAAD, Tekla Tedds)Experience with Revit (preferred) and AutoCADProven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage competing prioritiesStrong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levelsRewards & benefitsAt AtkinsRéalis, our values—Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence—are more than just words.
