We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our employee-owned Eureka team. Reporting to the DC Manager, this role serves as a primary point of contact for customers by receiving and processing orders, supporting sales efforts, resolving issues, and helping ensure a smooth and accurate order-to-delivery experience.If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, take pride in accuracy, and thrive on helping customers, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career with a respected, employee-owned leader in the building materials industry.What You’ll DoProvide friendly, professional service when receiving all customer callsRemain logged into the phone system for 90% of the workday and answer calls before the third ringGive appropriate attention and support to key account holdersEnter telephone, email, and faxed orders into the company database accurately and efficientlyFollow up on open orders as neededMaintain strong working relationships with Outside Sales Representatives by communicating pricing and other requested informationResolve purchasing and delivery discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective actionCreate quotes in AS400 and distribute them to customers and/or Outside Sales RepresentativesProcess shipped-less-than-ordered and pre-invoice audit reportsHelp move slow-moving inventory specials (SDO)Audit handler order status to ensure there are no status 10 or 00 orders at day’s endCreate inventory hold tagsPrepare requests for credit/debit memos for review by the Branch Manager or DC ManagerStay current on product knowledge and updatesMake scripted outbound calls to customers regarding product information and updatesSubmit IT work orders through Community Manager for computer-related issuesAttend product training meetings before or after regular work hours as neededPerform other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or DC ManagerAssist with operational administrative tasks, including will-call paperwork and occasional inventory checksProvide cross-departmental and cross-location support to coordinate internal material transfers for customer ordersSupport entry-level purchasing needs for customer special ordersWhat We’re Looking For:Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredBuilding materials and customer service experience preferredEquivalent experience may be considered; 5 years of relevant experience is preferredSkills & AbilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Windows and comfort using databases and spreadsheet applicationsStrong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-friendly approachSolid math skills, including the ability to work with fractions and decimalsUnderstanding of business concepts such as cost, margin, and profitabilityStrong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skillsAbility to multitask, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines in a busy environmentReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.BMD, Inc and Companies is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
