Job Description
Our organization is seeking applications for a full-time clinical gastroenterologist to become part of our esteemed Digestive Health program, which is recognized nationally. The ideal applicant will possess outstanding expertise in general gastroenterology and should have or intend to cultivate a specialization in areas such as foregut disorders, genetic predispositions to gastrointestinal cancers, lower GI motility issues, quality enhancement, and/or the education of medical students and fellows. Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology and hold an Illinois medical license by the time of their appointment. A strong dedication to teaching, mentoring, and academic contributions is essential. The preferred candidate will hold the title of Assistant or Associate Professor and will be a full-time member of the Division within the Department of Medicine.Our medical center maintains a close collaboration with a nearby VA hospital, which is situated directly east of our campus. Some faculty members hold joint positions at both institutions, and this arrangement can be explored. Medical students and residents participate in rotations at the VA hospital as part of their training.
