Our work is driven by a strong commitment to safety, innovation, and executional excellence.Position Summary: The Solar Project Manager is responsible for managing all phases of large-scale renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on utility-scale solar development. This includes overseeing front-end engineering, pre-construction planning, and project execution through final buyout. The role requires effective coordination across internal teams and external partners to ensure that scope, budget, schedule, and safety standards are met. Acting as the central point of accountability, the Senior Project Manager leads cross-functional efforts, supports contract and cost controls, and ensures seamless communication between engineering, procurement, construction, and client stakeholders. This position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, project performance, and customer satisfaction within the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio.Key Responsibilities:Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of multiple development functions, consultants, technicians, construction management, and be accountable for the execution and performance of the projectWork closely with Development and Construction to accomplish company goalsAssist in development of the project budget and all phases of the project for compliance with the budgetary goalsSupport and develop key project relationships with vendors, clients, and development partiesDirect all facets of each project from pre-construction and initial construction efforts to project buy-outWork with all construction management and clients to complete the project on scheduleOversee management of project scheduleDevelop site logistics plans with construction managerAssist with constructability reviews during engineering phasesSupport construction manager in the set-up of jobsite and mobilizationEstablish the safety plan at the jobsite with corporate safety departmentAssist with management of employee relations and field personnel/subcontractorsMonitor and update project projections monthlyMonitor project costsImplement change management procedure in accordance with company policy and contractSupport job-site budgets and AR/APFacilitate meetings with project teamSupervise and mentor project job site staffSupport site team with RFIs and ensure submittals are being appropriately processed by the procedures established by contractsManage jobsite relations and communicate needs with the Engineer of RecordEstablish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, partners, and local laborUnderstand, comply, and enforce Discovery standards and proceduresOther duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum 10 years’ proven experience as a construction project manager w/at least 5 years on Solar construction projectsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil preferred) or Construction ManagementIn-depth understanding of construction procedures and materials and project management principlesFamiliarity with quality, health, and safety standardsExtensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles specific to renewable energy.Familiarity with industry best practices, safety regulations, and quality standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with project scheduling software preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.Willingness to travel to project sites, vendor locations, and engineering offices as required.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
