Backend Python Engineer for API ServicesWe are seeking a Backend Developer with a strong Data Engineering focus to build secure APIs, backend services, and enterprise data access solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role focuses on developing Python-based backend systems and enabling scalable access to internal enterprise data platforms.You will design and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and secure enterprise integrations within a cloud-based data environment. Initial priorities include building secure REST APIs and MCP integrations that expose internal enterprise data systems for broader platform use. Over time, the role may expand into ETL workflows, orchestration pipelines, data transformations, and cloud data platform initiatives using tools such as Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to build scalable backend systems, support data access initiatives, and contribute to evolving AI-enabled engineering workflows.Minimum Qualifications8+ years of backend software engineering experienceStrong Python development experienceExperience building REST APIs and backend servicesExperience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworksStrong understanding of backend architecture and scalable system designExperience working with secure enterprise systems and data accessStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently within a small, fast-moving engineering teamComfortable learning new technologies and adapting to evolving requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience with GraphQL, Airflow, DBT, or SnowflakeExperience with ETL and data transformation workflowsExposure to AI/LLM engineering initiatives or MCP integrationsFamiliarity with AI-assisted development workflowsExperience working in fast-paced or startup environmentsEducation & ExperienceSenior-level backend engineering experience strongly preferredSubmit resume to jobs@OSIengineering.comTony Do408.550.2800 x115Type: ContractLocation: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid/Remote)Duration: 12 Months +Pay Rate Range: $50-$60/HR DOE
