Embedded Systems EngineerAs an Embedded Systems Engineer at our clients Surveillance Division Orlando, you will be placed on a team of highly skilled engineers and be asked to perform challenging tasks daily. Our team works to support a variety of challenging missions that support strategic impacts.The Embedded Systems Engineer will primarily be responsible for the software implementation and test of closed-loop control systems for a variety of gimbaledsystems.A working knowledge of control theory is not required, as the control loop algorithms will be developed by the Control Systems Engineers.Primary Duties & Responsibilities: ? Implement the real-time control system design in C++ in a well-written, efficient coding structure? Implement communication protocols to control systems hardware (motors, gyros, encoders, power supplies, etc.)? Understand importance of timing and thread prioritization? Implement BIT/FIT for the gimbal system? Experience in Linux operating systems? Assist highly skilled engineers in creating and assembling prototypes? Work with a cross-functional team to ensure the product functions throughout challenging Design Validation Testing (DVT)? Support data collection events (indoors/outdoors)? Present test findings to engineers and senior leadership? Work on systems in all stages of development: from prototyping to root cause analysis? Lab equipment & experiment set-up (general or specific tasks)? Calibration cycle assistance including equipment maintenance support? New equipment research, ordering, and setup? Conduct web searches and technical surveys? Support engineering documentation efforts (data files, reports, drawings)? Other related tasks (i.e., analysis, report writing, presentations), as necessaryEquipment to be Used: Windows/Linux Computers (C++, Office 365), products (i.e., IR sensors, EO sensors, LRF’s, etc.), general lab equipment (power supplies, multimeters, optomechanical staging, light sources, video recorder), frame grabbers, accelerometers, microscopes, spectrometers, EO/IR sources.Desired Qualifications:? Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering? 2-5 years of experience doing embedded systems software development? Desire to work in a lab environment? Aptitude for hands-on optical projects? Ability to take direction and execute without constant supervision? Desire to work in a dynamic environment? Self-motivated worth ethic? Good oral and written communication skills? Good problem-solving skills? Applicable grasp of analytical principles? Readiness to explore new experiences and responsibilities?
