Required) | Harrisburg, PA | Avg $105K–$135KRole OverviewA growing transportation infrastructure engineering firm is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with strong PennDOT transportation project experience to support complex infrastructure and structural design initiatives throughout Pennsylvania.This role is ideal for licensed Professional Engineers with expertise in transportation structures, bridge and culvert design, structural analysis, and infrastructure project coordination within consulting engineering environments.The ideal candidate has hands-on PennDOT project experience, strong technical engineering capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary transportation engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Design & Analysis Prepare structural calculations and engineering analyses Develop construction documents and technical design packages Perform structural design work for transportation infrastructure projects Support bridge, culvert, and related transportation structure projects Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with engineering standardsTransportation Infrastructure Engineering Support PennDOT transportation infrastructure projects from design through construction Ensure compliance with PennDOT and AASHTO design standards Coordinate with regulatory agencies and project stakeholders Participate in infrastructure planning and project execution activities Support engineering problem-solving and technical review processesDrafting & Technical Documentation Utilize MicroStation for drafting and design support Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and project records Support construction phase documentation and technical coordination Maintain organized and accurate project files and deliverablesProject Coordination & Collaboration Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams Coordinate project responsibilities within transportation consulting environments Support project schedules, technical reviews, and client deliverables Participate in meetings with agencies, consultants, and project teams Contribute to successful project execution and client satisfactionRequirements Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience Demonstrated PennDOT project experience required Strong understanding of AASHTO standards Proficiency with MicroStation required Experience with bridge and culvert design projects Strong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred Qualifications Transportation infrastructure consulting experience Experience supporting complex structural transportation projects Strong technical documentation and project coordination abilities Familiarity with multidisciplinary infrastructure project environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsCompensation & Benefits Avg Salary: $105,000–$135,000 Stable pipeline of transportation infrastructure projects Long-term career growth opportunities Professional development and technical advancement support Collaborative engineering environmentWork Environment Based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Transportation-focused consulting engineering environment Exposure to high-profile infrastructure projects Collaborative and growth-oriented engineering culture Opportunity to work on meaningful regional transportation initiativesIdeal Candidate Experienced transportation structural engineer Strong PennDOT and AASHTO knowledge Skilled in bridge and infrastructure design Detail-oriented with strong technical abilities Collaborative and team-focused Strong communicator with consulting mindset Interested in long-term transportation infrastructure career growth
