EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Position Description:Responsible for operation and minor maintenance of mobile and stationary equipment associated with coal handling, and other bulk materials handling. Also operates equipment used in fly ash operation. Open and closes valves, racks electrical breakers in and out for LOTO (lockout tag-out) clearance purposes. Washing/cleaning areas in the coal yard and fly ash silos for daily operation.Essential Job Tasks:In depth knowledge of operation, monitoring, inspecting and minor maintenance of stationary equipment associated with coal handling, coal system upkeep, and other bulk materials handling. Sample, weigh and label coal trains efficiently. Experienced in pushing coal under chutes while unloading trains. Feeds coal to reclaim troughs for stacker/reclaimer operations. Effectively pushes coal to feeders for coaling up units.Efficiently operates coal system through Foxboro DCS with minimal supervision. In depth knowledge troubleshooting coal system conveyors, unloading system, tripper cars, crushers and other related equipment associated in coal reclaim and stock out.Develops in-depth knowledge of station systems to ensure ability to operate effectively in emergency situations and increase station reliability. This includes on the job training of co-workers.Performs utility and other related duties as required such as unloading fuel trucks.Have an in depth knowledge of fly ash operation. Operates process equipment for making wet ash and assist with dry fly ash truck loading.Washing/cleaning areas in the coal yard and fly ash silos for daily operation. Opens and closes valves, racks electrical breakers in and out for LOTO (lockout tag-out) clearance purposes.Acts as a 'lead person' in the absence of the Crew Supervisor when utility workers are performing assigned tasks, and may act as coal train unloading supervisor when required.Will consider Equipment Operator III or IIPosition Requirements:Equipment Operator IIIHigh School Diploma/GED + 5 years experience required.Compensation Information:$27.00 -$33.75 (min. - mid.)Equipment Operator IIHigh School Diploma/GED + 2 years experience required.Compensation Information:$22.00 - $27.45 (min. - mid.)
