Fence Laborer
Fence LaborerAs a Fence Laborer, you will be working in the field installing various types of agricultural fencing, which includes fence posts, wires, gates, steel fencing, composite fencing, and wood fencing. Your role involves assisting the foreman with tasks such as digging post holes, unloading tools and equipment, lifting fence gates, pouring concrete, and ensuring the construction site is clean.ResponsibilitiesAssist the foreman with fence installation tasks.Dig post holes and unload tools and equipment.Lift and install fence gates and pour concrete.Clean up the construction site.Continually lift, stretch, and load equipment.Essential Skills1+ years of construction experience.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Proficiency in using hand and power tools.Experience in fence installation, concrete construction, landscaping, skid loader operation, and farming.Additional Skills & QualificationsEntry-level carpentry skills are a plus.Previous experience with fence installation is a plus.Why Work Here?This is a family-owned business with a strong reputation for quality and a 'work hard, play hard' mentality. You will be part of a small team, working alongside three crew members and the owner. The company provides specialty equipment like augers, gas-powered post drivers, and skid loaders to ease the workload. Dress code includes jeans, a T-shirt (no sleeveless), and construction boots, with company-provided logoed T-shirt and sweatshirt. Typical hours are 7 am - 5 pm, Monday to Thursday, with rare Friday work. The work is seasonal, ending when the ground freezes, usually around Christmas. Majority of projects are within a 60-mile radius of Cambridge, and you'll report to the shop each morning to travel to job sites in a company vehicle. PPE including a hard hat and safety glasses are provided.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
