Sourcewise Transit Service Driver - Per-Diem Position

POSITION SUMMARY The Transit Driver is responsible for safely transporting clients to and from designated locations, ensuring client safety, maintaining accurate transportation records, and supporting program operations. This position represents Sourcewise in the community and provides professional, courteous service to all clients. This is a per diem position with a flexible schedule based on program and operational needs. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary week to week. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are considered essential functions of this position. Sourcewise reserves the right to assign additional duties as needed, consistent with the nature and level of the position. Safely operate agency vehicles (car, van, minibus) to transport clients to and from designated locations. Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Ensure vehicles are properly fueled, clean, and in safe operating condition at all times. Maintain accurate records of client transportation, including mileage, travel times, and destinations. Enter service data accurately and timely into agency systems. Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional interactions with clients, staff, and the public. Support clients as appropriate, including assisting with safe entry and exit from vehicles, and assisting with mobility devices including wheelchairs as needed. Remain alert and focused for extended periods while operating a vehicle. Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and agency policies. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with Sourcewise policy and applicable law. Comply with all Sourcewise policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws. Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the nature and level of this position. The duties listed above are considered essential functions of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications may be demonstrated through a combination of education, professional training, and progressively responsible experience in a related field. Required Valid California Driver's License. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Sourcewise policy and insurance requirements. Driving records will be evaluated based on job-related criteria consistent with business necessity and applicable federal, state, and local law. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate professionally in person, by phone, and electronically. Basic computer skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Background checks will be conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act (AB 1008). An individualized assessment will be conducted prior to any adverse action based on criminal history. Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Sourcewise policy and applicable law. Preferred Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities. Experience with wheelchair-accessible transportation. Bilingual English/Spanish. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to the South County Supportive Services Supervisor and works collaboratively with program staff and other agency personnel.
