Job Title: Network EngineerReports To: Infrastructure ManagerWork Location: On-siteStatus: Non-ExemptFull Time/Part Time: Full-timeCompensation: $60/hr - $80/hrPosition Description: The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure across LAN and WAN environments. This position works closely with cross-functional IT teams to ensure network reliability, security, and scalability while assisting with deployments, upgrades, and incident resolution.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and resolve LAN and WAN connectivity issues across Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet environments Configure and support switching platforms including Cisco Catalyst 3750X, 9200, 9300, Nexus, and FortiSwitch Configure and maintain routing platforms including Cisco ASR/ISR, FortiGate, and Meraki solutions Install, deploy, and support network hardware and associated infrastructure Coordinate activation and ongoing support of WAN circuits and provider connections Participate in operational meetings, project discussions, and technical planning sessions Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures Create, review, and execute change plans and implementation documentation Work alongside cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate network vulnerabilities and threats Provide occasional travel support for network implementations and site deployments, up to 20% annually QualificationsAssociate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience CCNA certification preferred; recently expired certifications or comparable practical experience will also be considered Five or more years of experience within Information Technology environments At least three years of hands-on experience supporting Cisco-based networking environments Strong understanding of LAN technologies including: Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) EtherChannel / Port Channel 802.1Q trunking VLAN configuration and management 802.1x authentication DHCP Downloadable ACLs Experience supporting WAN technologies including: VRF Dynamic routing protocols IP access control lists Carrier and leased circuits Experience troubleshooting AAA and TACACS+ environments Knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting design Ability to diagnose endpoint and network connectivity issues Experience configuring SNMP monitoring and centralized logging solutions Technologies & ToolsCisco routing and switching platforms Cisco Meraki Fortinet FortiGate and FortiSwitch LAN/WAN infrastructure technologies Network monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms Preferred SkillsCCNA certification is considered a strong plus Experience working within enterprise or highly regulated environments is beneficialPhysical Requirements: The physical requirements for this office role include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, typically up to 8 hours a day, and regularly operate standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Employees should be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally and frequently perform tasks that require typing, writing, and document handling.
