House Manager
House Manager PositionCompass, Inc. is a progressive, non-profit organization that supports individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are accepting applications for House Manager positions in Camp Spring, MD to manage the day-to-day activities of the residential facility of Compass. This position requires ability to effectively manage behavioral challenges, provide detailed attention to medical needs, and develop recreational skills and activities for the individuals residing at the group home. Additionally, this position ensures staff supervision and coverage for the facility, ensures the overall health, safety, and welfare of the individuals residing in the facility, coordinates proper care and follow-through with medical appointments and ensures adherence to COMAR regulations, DDA standards, HIPAA regulations, and other legal and regulatory standards.Hours: Mon Fri 3pm-11pm / Camp Springs MDThe ideal candidate will possess:Strong supervisory and management skillsDemonstrated ability to support individuals with challenging behaviors and provide leadership to staff in this regardExcellent communications skills, both oral and writtenExcellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once and ensure proper follow through as neededEffective problem-solving skillsA high level of commitment to take initiative and maintain a positive "can do" attitudeA high level of personal accountability, integrity and ethical standardsEffective ability to work well under pressureExcellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with family members/guardians as well as state and local governing authoritiesA keen interest in improving the quality of life for the individuals served by Compass, Inc.Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. At least two years' experience working in human services preferably with people with developmental disabilities and/or mental health disorders. Prior supervisory experience and completion of college-level coursework in a related field preferred. Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be CPR First Aid certified or obtain prior to starting.Compensation: $27.50-$28.50 an hour depending on experience.
