Strategic Sourcing Lead

Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The Sourcing Lead is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for machining, mechanical, and fabrication technologies, including precision-machined components, complex mechanical assemblies, and fabricated hardware. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing and owns cost reduction, deflation, and supplier strategy initiatives within their assigned sourcing portfolio. The position requires deep technical expertise in manufacturing processes and materials, along with the ability to drive measurable improvements in cost, supply continuity, quality, and supplier performance within a highly regulated aerospace and defense environment.Key Responsibilities Own and execute strategic sourcing strategies for electronic components and electronic assemblies Lead deflation and cost reduction initiatives with measurable savings targets Develop sourcing roadmaps, driving cost, continuity, and supplier performance Build and manage supplier strategies, including market intelligence and risk assessment Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships supporting components and electronic assemblies Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Operations, and Program Management Lead supplier identification, evaluation, qualification, and onboarding Drive RFI/RFQ/RFP processes and negotiate commercial terms Support should-cost modeling, make/buy decisions, and design-for-cost initiatives Track supplier KPIs and lead performance improvement actions Execute sourcing process improvements and standardization initiatives. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or other related degrees Minimum six (6) years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain with a machining/mechanical background Strong Commodity experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience driving deflation and cost reduction initiatives for machine suppliers, machine shops Ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on cost drivers, manufacturability, and design tradeoffs Strong understanding of supplier cost structures, negotiation strategies, and long-term agreements Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries Proven ability to operate independently and deliver results with limited oversight Additional Information This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law. Pay Range: $132,000 - $167,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
